Description
Structuring Analyst - Energy MarketsWe are looking for a highly motivated and analytical Structuring Analyst to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in energy markets, quantitative modeling, and commercial strategy. You'll support the pricing of new structured deals, optimize existing asset portfolios, and help generate trade ideas across natural gas, crude, and power markets.
This position sits at the intersection of commercial structuring, market analysis, and strategy. You'll partner closely with traders and originators to identify opportunities, automate workflows, and provide insights that drive profitability. An ability to present complex analysis clearly to senior stakeholders is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support deal pricing using simulation modeling, statistical analysis, and financial valuation techniques (DCF, financial statement analysis).
- Develop and present trade ideas across commodities, backed by technical, statistical, and fundamental analysis.
- Build quantitative tools that automate data pipelines, enhance trade visibility, and track asset and market performance.
- Evaluate, structure, and optimize internal and external energy assets.
- Lead transaction workstreams, guide valuation assumptions, and elevate analytical frameworks.
- Build deep knowledge of the power trading business-markets, exposures, and strategy.
- Collaborate across gas, power, and crude teams to deliver integrated commercial solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in a relevant environment.
- Strong project and workflow management skills.
- In-depth understanding of wholesale electricity markets and underlying infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to automate workflows and build analytical/commercial tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Math, Finance, MBA, Engineering, Economics, or similar quantitative discipline).
- CFA (completed or in progress).
- Knowledge of Lower 48 gas systems, transportation & storage, and market dynamics across ERCOT, SPP, PJM, and MISO.
- Experience in an energy trading & marketing organization and an understanding of value drivers.
- Familiarity with complex gas transactions including transportation & storage, HRCOs, revenue puts, and asset management agreements.
